EFRY Where Do You Run?

Peterborough, ON

Everyday Women in Canada and around the world are faced with the harsh reality of dealing with domestic abuse. Often, when women are trying to leave abusive situations, defend themselves and their children, or fight back they can end up facing criminal charges for things like assault. Now caught between a confusing legal process on one side, and an unsafe relationship on the other, women are left with the question: Where do I run?

Starting August 1st and ending on Prisoner’s Justice day on August 10th our virtual walk/run “where do you run?” asks people to register and complete a 5km distance sometime within the listed dates. You can complete the run anywhere, anytime and receive a beautiful finisher’s medal!

We also encourage you to join us for the summer with our “where do you run?” awareness campaign, where we will be drawing attention to the inequalities women face in the justice system and process, as well as what local supports exist to help women through these difficult events. Like and follow us to stay up to date this summer, we hope you will join us in answering the question: Where do I run?
